Bob Brooke
As a prolific travel, history, and business writer, Bob Brooke has traveled to over 75 countries, covering such diverse subjects as living under terrorism in Northern Ireland, returning to D-Day in Normandy, France, shopping in Hong Kong, training through Eastern Europe, discovering the Russia of the Czars, gallery hopping in Paris, and exploring ruins in Mexico, his specialty.
He has authored 14 books, one of which, The Everything Guide to Mexico from Adams Media, showcases the country he knows best. He has also written Amish Country, a book about Amish of Lancaster County, not far from where he lives in Pennsylvania. His articles have appeared in many national and international publications.
Brooke is the recipient of Mexico's prestigious La Pluma de Plata Award for excellence in travel writing, the Westin Real award for journalism excellence, and awards two years in a row from the National Association of Hispanic Publishers for his work on Mexico.
He also designed and authors two travel Web sites — The Real Mexico and AllScandinavia — besides his main web site, Writing at Its Best.

Alysia Gray Painter has blogged for NBCLA.com since October 2008, covering Los Angeles go-outs, restaurants, museums, hotels, as well as nearby Worth the Drive destinations. She served as the West Coast Managing Editor for AOL CityGuide, as well as the Los Angeles editor; she has also written for Bark magazine, McSweeney's, Modern Humorist, and PBS programs and publications.
